Ecstasy is a soft drug manufactured to provide euphoria to users.
People usually abuse ecstasy because it enhances social and sexual performances. Party goers dance for hours on end without tiring when they use ecstasy, and it is also reported to boost sexual prowess. Users feel light and euphoric after using the substance but its after-effects are often terrible. Ecstasy is also known as Adam, beans, essence, hug, lover’s speed, rapture, molly, disco biscuit, elephants, snowball, XTC and XE among others.
Some of the health effects of ecstasy are hallucination, kidney failure, impaired judgment, teeth clenching, paranoia, blurred vision and slurred speech, as well as permanent organ damage. These ill effects can be long-lasting with terrible consequences such as organ damage, psychosis and seizures. Suicide is also not uncommon among ecstasy users.
