Ecstasy addiction is prominent among young drug users in Los Angeles. Named for the way it alters the mind, this psychoactive substance is a manmade pill, capsule or tablet, and an illegal drug. The synthetic substance has many users addicted before they even notice it happening.
It’s considered a “club drug” frequently used as part of a party scenes and raves. On the streets and in the clubs of Los Angeles, ecstasy goes by many names, such as Molly, disco biscuits, the love drug, X, vitamin E, XTC, beans, hug, Adam and Scooby snacks. Ecstasy addicts rarely take this one drug alone, making them prone to other drug addictions as well.
This illicit street drug causes muscle tension. It also causes jaw-clenching, which is why you see some ecstasy addicts walking around Los Angeles with baby pacifiers in their mouths. It also causes serious bouts of acne, which is a sign they may be suffering from liver damage. LA drug testing can’t detect it, unless it’s directly targeted.
