Sandstone Care Alexandria provides specialized outpatient treatment for adolescents ages 13–17 and young adults ages 18–30 struggling with Substance Use Disorder and co-occurring mental health conditions. Conveniently located near Washington, D.C., the center offers evidence-based, age-specific care through a day treatment program and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). With a low 1:8 therapist-to-client ratio, each client receives individualized attention, comprehensive assessments, and a structured treatment plan that addresses both addiction and mental health needs.
At Sandstone Care Alexandria, treatment for Addiction integrates individual therapy, group counseling, family therapy, and psychoeducation using proven modalities such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, IFS, and mindfulness. Clients also receive academic and vocational support to maintain progress in school or work while in treatment. Ongoing family involvement, medication-assisted treatment when appropriate, and a strong alumni aftercare program help clients and families build long-term stability and success beyond outpatient care.
