National Capital Treatment and Recovery’s Demeter House offers gender-specific residential treatment for women in a structured, home-like setting. Patients complete an assessment in person or virtually before entering care. The program provides 24/7 support, medical and clinical services, withdrawal management, and therapies that help women stabilize and build a foundation for recovery. Creative and wellness activities, including art, music, and daily movement, are integrated into the routine.
Women participate in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), group therapy, and other interventions that focus on emotional regulation, healing from trauma, and developing practical life skills. Treatment plans are individualized and incorporate medical oversight, supportive services, and a gender-responsive curriculum that helps women stay engaged and supported as they work toward long-term recovery.
Demeter House is located in Arlington, Virginia, in a residential environment designed to offer safety, stability, and connection. The program welcomes women from many backgrounds, including those coming from the justice system, unstable housing, or difficult home situations, as well as women seeking a fresh start. National Capital Treatment and Recovery strives to make services accessible to women from a wide range of financial backgrounds.
