Blue Ridge Therapeutic Wilderness is a premier, full-immersion wilderness therapy program located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia, serving adolescents and young adults facing substance abuse, addiction, and complex mental health challenges. Founded in 2002, the program is licensed by the Georgia Department of Human Services and accredited by the Association for Experiential Education. It provides comprehensive treatment for drug addiction, screen addiction, depression, anxiety, ADHD, self-harm, and family conflict through individualized care plans developed by licensed therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and 24/7 field staff. Each participant receives a full clinical assessment within the first two weeks to ensure a highly personalized and evidence-based treatment approach.
Blue Ridge Therapeutic Wilderness delivers transformative care for addiction recovery in a distraction-free natural environment that promotes emotional regulation, resilience, and personal growth. Daily life includes individual and group therapy, experiential learning, mindfulness practices, academic programming, and physical activity such as hiking. Adolescents can earn school credits, while young adults engage in skill-building workshops and group psychotherapy. Family involvement is a core component, with parent workshops, family therapy, and ongoing support to drive lasting recovery from substance use disorder and support long-term mental wellness.
