Sheepgate Men’s Program, a division of Adult & Teen Challenge of the Midlands, is a nonprofit, faith-based rehabilitation center for men struggling with **Substance Use Disorder (SUD)**, depression, and anxiety. This highly structured 12-month program focuses on biblical teachings and life transformation through God’s Word. Residents participate in independent study, one-on-one counseling, faith-centered classes, and a Christ-focused community to build spiritual strength and healthier habits. Unlike short-term programs, Sheepgate Men’s Program emphasizes spiritual growth, discipline, and long-term behavioral change rooted in Christian principles.
The program also features a powerful work-training component that equips men with practical skills in carpentry, mechanics, thrift retail, and more, while supporting GED preparation when needed. Residents spend the first seven months in Colfax, Iowa, in shared dorm-style housing where they take part in daily chores, animal care, and outdoor projects. The final phase takes place in Omaha, Nebraska, where participants practice independent living, pursue jobs, develop hobbies, and maintain sobriety in a supportive sober living environment. With a reported 70% success rate and only a $750 intake fee, Sheepgate Men’s Program offers an affordable, Christ-centered path toward lasting recovery.
