ARC Maternal and Infant Program (MIP) is a 12-bed residential treatment center in Madison, Wisconsin, created to support pregnant and postpartum women with **strong substance use disorders**. Established in 1993, the program offers a rare opportunity for mothers to live with their infants in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment while receiving comprehensive treatment. Women ages 18+ are referred through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, BadgerCare (Medicaid), and county human services, with all services provided at no cost. Funding is supported by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, BadgerCare (Medicaid), and the Dane County Department of Human Services.
Designed to build healthy families and lasting recovery, ARC Maternal and Infant Program (MIP) combines pregnancy and parenting support with clinical treatment. Mothers receive substance use disorder assessments, delivery planning, infant care education, and guidance from a dedicated Parenting Social Worker who focuses on bonding and early childhood development. Treatment also includes intensive case management, individual and group therapy, support for medication-assisted treatment, and continuing care planning. Licensed as a community-based residential facility and certified for substance use disorder care, MIP provides a safe and empowering healing environment that strengthens family stability and prepares mothers for long-term success in the community.
