East Mississippi State Hospital offers a structured residential program providing court-ordered treatment for men age 18 and older struggling with substance use disorder and addiction. Located on a 63-acre campus, the program delivers short-term residential care with 24-hour nursing services, individual and group therapy, and recovery-focused resources designed to help residents stabilize, develop coping skills, and prepare for a successful return to their families and communities.
Using evidence-based treatment methods, East Mississippi State Hospital follows the Matrix Model, integrating cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, psychoeducation, and relapse prevention. Participants engage in 12-Step programming, peer support with individuals who have lived recovery experience, and family education. Comprehensive aftercare planning connects residents with ongoing recovery meetings and mental health services to support long-term sobriety beyond discharge.
