In 2018, 61.1% of Minnesotans above the age of 18 admitted having abused alcohol. It is estimated that 4%, 13%, and 9% of addiction treatments in Minnesota are due to cocaine, heroin, and meth, respectively, while 44% of admissions to addiction rehabs in Minnesota were due to alcohol and 10% to opiates.
The number of drug overdose-related deaths has been rising steadily, and the number increased by about 80% from 2015 to 2016.
