Saint John's Program for Real Change in California empowers homeless women and their children to overcome substance use, trauma, and mental health challenges through an 18-month residential program. The center provides shelter, nutritious meals, education, and counseling to help families regain stability. Women participate in individual, group, and family therapy designed to address deep-rooted trauma and promote emotional wellness, while learning coping strategies and life skills that foster self-sufficiency and effective parenting.
The program also supports employability and educational growth, preparing mothers to secure jobs and achieve long-term independence. The safe, structured campus includes private and shared rooms, dining halls, a computer lab, play areas for children, and a fitness room. On-site childcare and well-child services allow mothers to focus fully on recovery, while transitional housing prepares families to move confidently toward independent living and lasting stability.
