Back2Basics is a 6-month outdoor adventure recovery program for males ages 18-30 struggling with addiction, located in the scenic mountains of Flagstaff, Arizona. The program emphasizes spending time in nature to clear the mind and challenge the body, with wilderness adventures such as mountain biking, snowboarding, surfing, rock climbing, and river rafting 3-4 times per week. Back2Basics combines adventure therapy with 12-Step facilitation, offering individual counseling, group therapy, life skills courses, recreational activities, nutritional and culinary classes, and community integration. Each day begins with morning meditation, followed by fitness activities, hot yoga, group therapy, and concludes with a 12-Step meeting, creating a structured yet engaging recovery routine.
The residence provides comfortable accommodations in a relaxed environment, allowing clients to focus on personal growth and long-term recovery. Residents receive access to a local gym, hot yoga, and Tai Chi classes, promoting physical wellness alongside mental and emotional healing. By blending outdoor adventure, evidence-based therapy, and holistic wellness practices, Back2Basics offers a unique and effective approach to addiction recovery, helping young men build resilience, develop life skills, and achieve sustained sobriety in a supportive and immersive environment.
