APT Foundation Legion Clinic in New Haven provides comprehensive outpatient treatment for individuals struggling with addiction, substance use disorders, drug addiction, alcohol addiction, and co-occurring mental health conditions. Services include individual, group, and family therapy, medication management, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) delivered in a supportive, trauma-informed environment. The clinic also offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) that meets three days per week and includes a minimum of nine hours of structured group therapy, individual counseling, and psychiatric consultation, allowing clients to receive focused care while continuing daily responsibilities.
At APT Foundation Legion Clinic, care is rooted in evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI). Daily therapeutic groups address trauma, stress, relapse prevention, job and life skills, psychoeducation, goal setting, expressive arts, tai chi, and mindfulness. MAT options include methadone and buprenorphine, with psychiatric oversight to ensure safe medication use and adjustments. Telehealth services are available when needed, and family and couples therapy supports emotional and relational healing. As part of APT Foundation, serving the community since 1970, the clinic follows an open-access model and provides treatment regardless of ability to pay.
