Crestwood Santa Barbara Crisis Residential provides a short-term, voluntary program for adults aged 18–59 experiencing psychiatric crises. Situated near the Pacific coast, the facility offers a warm, home-like environment where guests receive 24/7 care from a compassionate team, many with lived experience. The center focuses on personalized support, combining clinical guidance with peer-led assistance to help individuals navigate crises safely and begin their journey toward recovery.
The program incorporates dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, and mindfulness practices to strengthen emotional regulation and coping skills. Guests develop a Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) and participate in vocational and life skills training through the Dreamcatchers Empowerment Network. Therapeutic outdoor spaces, including gardens and patios, enhance the healing experience, fostering confidence, resilience, and personal growth in a supportive, structured setting.
