Buckelew Programs - Athena House in Sonoma County provides a safe, supportive environment for women and nonbinary adults to recover from substance use. The center offers a 30- to 90-day intensive residential program with 24/7 clinical support, including medically supervised detox. Parents can bring young children, and many graduates transition to Hope Village, a nearby sober living community offering longer-term housing. Athena House emphasizes trauma-informed care, combining evidence-based therapies with holistic approaches to foster lasting recovery and personal growth.
Clients participate in individual and group counseling, substance use education, relapse prevention, and life skills development. The program also incorporates mindfulness practices and peer-led 12-Step meetings. The rebuilt 2023 campus includes shared living spaces, a studio for mothers with young children, a garden, gym/yoga area, pickleball court, and play structures. With experienced staff and a focus on family reunification, Athena House provides a nurturing, empowering setting where residents can heal, grow, and build a sustainable sober life.
