Northwest Journey Wisconsin Rapids, operated by Northwest Counseling and Guidance Clinic (NWCGC), provides specialized behavioral health treatment for children and adolescents across Wisconsin facing serious mental health challenges. When weekly outpatient therapy is not enough, this center offers structured, intensive day and half-day treatment programs designed to stabilize behavior at home and school. Services focus on preventing out-of-home placement while supporting a successful transition back into the community. In addition to mental health care, the program also addresses co-occurring substance use addiction concerns through family-centered support.
Treatment at Northwest Journey Wisconsin Rapids is individualized, trauma-informed, and strength-based, helping youth build coping skills in a safe and supportive environment. Services include individual, family, and group counseling that target emotional regulation, anger management, stress reduction, self-esteem, and drug and alcohol addiction issues. The center also provides 24/7 crisis intervention through the Northwest Connections program, school-to-home outreach in collaboration with local districts, and telepsychiatry for improved access to psychiatric care. These comprehensive services ensure children and families receive accessible, coordinated support for long-term stability and recovery.
