Newport Academy Costa Mesa Outpatient provides a whole-person approach for children ages 7-11 and teens 12-18 struggling with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and co-occurring challenges such as substance use, self-harm, and disordered eating. Their partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) combine therapeutic, academic, and family-centered support. The center’s location near Costa Mesa’s arts district, coastal parks, and beaches allows for adventure therapy that enhances social, emotional, and physical healing.
The center integrates evidence-based clinical care with experiential therapies, including CBT, DBT, EMDR, and attachment-based family therapy to strengthen parent-child relationships and communication. Clients participate in yoga, meditation, art, music, and outdoor adventure therapy, with specialized programming for children such as sensory rooms and play therapy. Newport Academy also offers culturally competent, gender-responsive care, supporting LGBTQ+ youth with tools for self-worth, peer connection, and resilience, in partnership with the Trevor Project for staff training and specialized guidance.
