Chemical Abuse Services Agency – Proyecto Nueva Vida is an outpatient and partial hospitalization (PHP) treatment program located minutes from downtown Bridgeport and easily accessible from I-95. The program serves adults living with substance use disorders, offering culturally responsive care in both English and Spanish with a special focus on Latino and African American communities. Flexible levels of care allow individuals to pursue recovery from drug addiction and alcohol addiction while maintaining work, family, and community responsibilities, including those referred through court or child welfare systems.
Recovery services include evidence-based individual and group therapy, family counseling, psychiatric evaluation, and buprenorphine treatment for opioid addiction. Gender-specific programming, problem gambling services for gambling addiction, and integrated recreational and therapeutic activities address complex recovery needs. A peer-led mentoring model encourages community engagement through family forums, civic service, and sober social events, while additional supports such as HIV/STD testing, vocational connections, and advocacy promote dignity, resilience, and long-term recovery.
