The center’s prevention programs are designed to reduce drug-related risks, particularly the transmission of HIV, by addressing the physical, psychological, and social impacts of substance use. Unlike traditional models, these programs do not require abstinence or sobriety as a precondition for participation. Instead, they focus on harm reduction—helping individuals build social support, develop life skills, and gradually adopt healthier behaviors. Progress is measured by any positive behavioral change that lessens the adverse effects of drug use on individuals, their relationships, and the broader community.
